Optimization of Quercetin Gel Formulation using Factorial Design Method and Antibacterial Test against Propionibacterium acnes

نویسندگان

چکیده

Quercetin is a flavonoid from group of polyphenolic compounds. can be used as an alternative to acne treatment, predominantly triggered by Propionibacterium acnes. This study aimed determine the effect and proportion carbopol 940, propylene glycol, glycerin on physical quality quercetin gel, ability optimum formula in antibacterial test, its diffusion using Franz diffusion. uses factorial design method for optimization. Optimization was carried out with parameters gel tested, including viscosity, dispersibility, antibacterial, The combination glycerin, glycol affected test significantly viscosity. In contrast, Franz's dispersion, properties. manufacture obtained concentration 940 0.5%, 15%, 10%. 22.20 mm, cumulative percent penetrated 97.91%.

In vitro antibacterial activity of NB-003 against Propionibacterium acnes.

NB-003 and NB-003 gel formulations are oil-in-water nanoemulsions designed for use in bacterial infections. In vitro susceptibility of Propionibacterium acnes to NB-003 formulations and comparator drugs was evaluated. Both NB-003 formulations were bactericidal against all P. acnes isolates, including those that were erythromycin, clindamycin, and/or tetracycline resistant. In the absence of seb...

Formulation of Topical Bioadhesive Gel of Aceclofenac Using 3-Level Factorial Design

The objective of this work was to develop bioadhesive topical gel of Aceclofenac with the help of response-surface approach. Experiments were performed according to a 3-level factorial design to evaluate the effects of two independent variables [amount of Poloxamer 407 (PL-407 = X1) and hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose K100 M (HPMC = X2)] on the bioadhesive character of gel, rheological property o...

Formulation and Optimization of Clotrimazole-Loaded Proniosomal Gel Using 32 Factorial Design

The main aim of the study was to develop and statistically optimize the proniosomal gel for enhanced transdermal delivery using 3(2) factorial designs to investigate the influence of both non-ionic surfactant and cholesterol to maximize the entrapment efficiency and flux. The concentration of non-ionic surfactant and cholesterol were taken as independent variables, while entrapment efficiency a...
